Austin Community College Visual Communication Department is looking for experienced, enthusiastic professionals to teach within the graphic design section. Our department is a thriving community with eager students from all walks of life. If you have a love for graphic design and want to share your knowledge with our community, please consider joining our adjunct faculty.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in branding designing logos, identities, and annual reports
- Current and established relationships within the industry (designers, printers, paper reps, etc.)
- Previous teaching experience (very helpful but not required)
- Available to teach in mornings and afternoons
Required:
- Three to five years work experience in the Visual Communication industry
- Must be computer literate on Macintosh platform
- Proficient in Adobe CS 3 Suite
- Must possess a strong knowledge of:
- typography
- symbology
- graphic design principles
- graphic design process
- an understanding of the integration of the computer in graphic design
- Professional work practices: organized, punctual, focused
Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
- Visual Communication
- Graphic Design
- Art (including coursework in Graphic Design)
- Commercial Art (including coursework in Graphic Design)
