The Web Designer is responsible for updating and creating online content for online properties and marketing vehicles. This includes: site design and updates, marketing emails, advertising banners, landing pages, design mock-ups, and researching new technologies. We’re looking for a web designer who is creative, outspoken, energetic, efficient and effective at translating written and oral ideas into digital content in a fast paced, public company.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and produce web content for the web site, marketing emails and web banners under direction of the Online Creative Manager.
- Attend weekly web marketing and creative meetings.
- Follow brand and style guidelines.
- Work closely with the online store manager to update the site.
Essential Requirements and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of online layout principles, and user centric design concepts.
- Familiar with email marketing principles and best practices.
- Ability to work within a collaborative environment with an eye on future technology.
- Familiar with SEO best practices.
- Proficiency in Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and light JavaScript.
- Experience with an email marketing program such as SilverPOP is a plus.
- Advanced level Flash skills a plus.
- Ability to understand and act on web metrics and sales data is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must have strong initiative and have the ability to follow-up with key stockholders.
- Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule with input from several different sources.
- Four-year degree from an accredited university preferred; combination of work experience and education will be considered.
- 2+ years of experience working in an online marketing environment designing and web content.
