"Portfolio Posse" is a free-to-attend mixer and portfolio roundup providing an opportunity for artists, designers and animators to secure formal portfolio review from top pros and hiring managers in film, games, visual effects, animation and graphic design. Pros and student alike will receive critical feedback and career advice on their paper and digital portfolios, as well as demo reels, from nearly 20 industry professionals. "Portfolio Posse" attendees will also have the chance to network with members of the visual effects, design, film and video games communities in Austin. This event is BYOC ("bring your own computer") for digital portfolios and demo reels.
Food, drink and door prizes will be offered to all attendees, while free nighttime parking is available at the Capitol Visitor's Parking garage on the north side of 12th street, between San Jacinto and Trinity.
"Portfolio Posse" is sponsored by Junction Point/Disney Interactive Studios, Newtek and Sam Houston State University, with additional sponsorship from The Guildhall at SMU, Mac&Cheez and Troublemaker Studios. Event partners are AIGA Austin, SXSW Screenburn and Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TXMPA).
Confirmed review panelists include senior representatives from: Conceptopolis, Critical Mass Interactive, Fangman Design, Junction Point/Disney Interactive Studios, Kelley Toombs Design, Lewis Carnegie Design, Mac&Cheez, PortfolioMentor, Seadra Productions, Sam Houston State University, Shiny Object, Sibley/Peteet Design, Studio Nouveau, Steambot Studios, TexFX, Troublemaker Studios, UT Austin ITS Apps. Dept. and Vigil Games.
