I've been working with my typecasting equipment lately, and I thought that AIGA members might be interested in seeing how lead type is made since there are so few opportunities these days to witness what is essentially a nineteenth century technology. I will demonstrate the monotype caster and then talk about making the transition from traditional lead-based letterpress to the digital environment.
