About Larry Jolly

Larry Jolly, president of Jolly Design, Inc., received a BFA in design from The University of Texas in 1981. After interning at HIXO and working for a couple of small agencies, he accepted a position with Texas Instruments as a packaging and collateral designer. Then in 1985, he began Jolly Design as a sole proprietorship, working out of his home during what turned out to be one of Austin's famous economic busts. Leveraging his experience on the client side of the technology industry, Jolly built a thriving business doing brand development work for a number of small tech start-ups, many of whom became larger household names. Today, having survived and thrived through a few more booms and busts, a lesser—but still significant—percentage of Jolly's business involves work for technology clients, with the balance distributed among professional organizations, consumer-targeted manufacturers, and service groups. Jolly Design employs seven people and is located in permanent headquarters in the central business district.
