Small Talks is a forum for Austin’s creative community to share and exchange ethical and practical discussion relevant to the local design industry.

About Shannon Carter

Shannon Carter, Founder, President and Chief Creative Officer of Cartis Group, inspires the entire team to continually exceed client expectations and produce spectacular results on a daily basis. A 21-year veteran of the advertising and design business, Shannon founded Cartis Group in 1992 (as mc2 Creative) to provide premium design and branding services to premiere clients such as Balfour, Whole Foods Market, USAA, and Silicon Laboratories.

Cartis Group specializes in branding-driven advertising and design, drawing on its experienced team of strategists and designers to create work that drives revenue, builds loyalty, and inspires emotion. Cartis Group works with clients in a variety of industries, from semiconductors to consumer goods. One thing they all have in common is a desire to connect with their customers and deliver authentic and consistent brand experiences at every communications touch-point.

An active industry leader, Shannon has published several articles on the power of branding and design, frequently speaks at industry events, judges several design competitions per year, and was recently named “Ad Man of the Year” by the Austin Advertising Federation. A native Texan, Shannon is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and a highly-competitive soccer player.
