Small Talks is a forum for Austin’s creative community to share and exchange ethical and practical discussion relevant to the local design industry.
About Melissa Grimes
For over 20 years, Melissa Grimes has created illustrations for such clients as GQ, Premiere, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, Atlantic Monthly, Converse, Nike, Bennigan’s, TGI Friday’s, and Benson & Hedges.
Her playful illustration style utilizing collage, by hand and in Photoshop, has garnered her recognition and awards from American Illustration, Communication Arts, Houston Art Directors’ Club, Graphis, Dallas Society of Visual Communications, and Print Magazine.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas where she was an instructor for nine years. She currently teaches Illustration, Figure Painting and Drawing at Texas State University in San Marcos.
